The couple married in July 2020 after postponing their scheduled May 2020 wedding due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The child will be the second grandchild for Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. Princess Beatrice’s sister, Princess Eugenie, gave birth to her first child, a son, in February.
Several members of the royal family have or will be welcoming children this year. In addition to her younger sister’s child, the princess’ cousin, Zara Tindall, who is Princess Anne’s daughter, gave birth to a son in March. Another cousin, Prince Harry, is expecting a daughter this summer.
The child will be the couple’s first together, though Mapelli Mozzi has a son, Christopher Woolf Mapelli Mozzi, from a previous relationship. The couple’s child will be 11th in the line of succession to the British throne.
