The service, held at London’s Westminster Abbey, was a larger event than the funeral that was held in 2021. Prince Philip died at Windsor Castle in April 9, 2021, CNN reported.
Queen Elizabeth II made her first public appearance in almost five months at the service, CNN reported.
Last year she attended the funeral for her husband of 73 years, but due to COVID-19 regulations, she sat alone as only 30 people were allowed to attend that ceremony.
Since that time, the queen has had a number of health challenges, including being diagnosed with COVID-19 in late February, The Associated Press reported last month.
This time, Elizabeth was seated with her son and heir Prince Charles, Prince William, Duchess Catherine and other members of the royal family.
Queen Elizabeth was escorted into the church by her second son, Prince Andrew, but she proceeded to her seat alone, the AP reported.
Andrew has not been an active member of the royal family after he settled a lawsuit relating to his relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The queen had stripped Andrew of his royal titles, The Washington Post reported.
Prince George and Princess Charlotte also attended the service.

Friends of Prince Philip, foreign kings and queens, members of the military, Prime Minister Boris Johnson and more than 500 representatives from charities and organizations Philip championed also attended the service of thanksgiving, which had been planned by the queen, CNN reported.
In total, about 1,800 people were allowed to attend Tuesday’s service, the AP reported.
