CHICAGO — Rapper Lil Reese and two other men were wounded Saturday during a shootout in a Chicago parking lot, authorities said.
According to a police report, the Chicago rapper, whose real name is Tavares Taylor, was identified as a 28-year-old man who was shot, the Chicago Tribune reported.
The other victims were a 27-year-old man and a 20-year-old man, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
The shooting occurred at about 9:50 a.m. CDT, Chicago Police Department spokesperson Sally Bown said.
“Apparently they were all shooting at each other,” Bown told reporters.
Taylor was taken to an area hospital after he was grazed in the eye, the Tribune reported. He was in fair condition.
The 27-year-old man was struck multiple times and was in critical condition, the newspaper reported. The 20-year-old man was shot twice in the knee and was in good condition at an area hospital, the Tribune reported.
It was the second time Taylor has been wounded since November 2019, the Sun-Times reported. He suffered a neck wound during the earlier incident, which occurred in a southern suburb of Chicago, the newspaper reported.
Taylor gained notoriety in 2012 after the murder of fellow rapper Lil Jojo, whose legal name was Joseph Coleman, the Sun-Times reported.
Coleman was fatally shot hours after posting a YouTube video that showed him taunting Taylor in the street, the newspaper reported.
