Baker Farms has recalled three of the company’s kale products due to the potential of listeria contamination.
The recall was issued Thursday, according to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration notice.
The following products are part of the recall: Baker Farms Kale, Kroger Kale and SEG Grocers Kale. See the chart below for production codes and best by dates impacted by the recall.
No illnesses have been reported to date, according to the FDA notice. Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems, according to the FDA. Symptoms can include high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume the product. Consumers can either discard the product or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
