Ikea has recalled its Blavingad children’s fishing game due to a choking hazard.
In a news release on Thursday, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said that the Swedish furniture retailer’s game, which uses wooden pieces with metal rivets moved by a magnet-tipped fishing line, creates a possible choking hazard because a small metal rivet can come loose.
The recall affects about 25,000 units of the game.

According to the CPSC, Ikea received four reports of the rivet detaching from the wooden pieces.
None of the reported incidents occurred in the U.S. or required medical attention, the agency stated in its recall notice.
The game was sold at Ikea stores and on its website from October 2022 through March 2023, the CPSC said.
The article name (Blavingad) and number (10539622), along with its supplier number (21576) can be found on the back of the product’s blue box, the CPSC said. The box also includes the phrase, “Made in China.”
The CPSC stated that consumers should stop using the game and contact Ikea for a full refund.
Consumers can also contact Ikea at 888-966-4532 from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. EDT Monday through Friday, or online at https://www.ikea.com/us/en/customer-service/product-support/recall.
