The White House is expected to announce the plan shortly as President Joe Biden meets with NATO leaders in Brussels.
A U.S. official confirmed the plan to allow up to 100,000 Ukrainians and other people leaving the country after the month-long attack by Russia on Ukraine, The Associated Press reported.

The exact number of people who would be permitted to enter America could change, The Washington Post reported.
Since the invasion started last month, more than 3.5 million people have left Ukraine, the AP reported.
The majority of the refugees have escaped to other European countries, starting a humanitarian crisis in the region, CNN reported.
