‘Sesame Street’ characters to answer kids’ questions about the COVID-19 vaccine

The characters from “Sesame Street” have tackled some big issues from homelessness, drug abuse, prison and death. Now they’re going to help answer questions children may have about the COVID-19 vaccine.

Big Bird, Elmo and Rosita will be joining CNN for “The ABCs of COVID Vaccines: A CNN/Sesame Street Townhall for Families.”

Rosita, a Muppet on the long-running children’s show, received her vaccine and talks about it in a clip from the show.

Families were able to submit their questions to host Dr. Sanjay Gupta and Erica Hill to have them answered Saturday morning.

“The ABCs of COVID Vaccines” is part of Sesame Workshop’s Caring for Each Other initiative that gives parents and caregivers free resources to help educate children about the pandemic.

Sesame Street has partnered in the past with CNN to hold town halls about COVID-19.
