MIRAMAR, Fla. — Technology issues impacting Spirit Airlines’ website and “other systems” forced a Monday afternoon ground stop, the company confirmed.
In a statement, the Miramar, Florida-based airline called the unspecified issues “temporary” but confirmed that some flights have been canceled or delayed.
“Our airport operations are running, and we are working to restore website functionality,” Spirit officials stated. “We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.”

In a Facebook post, the airline offered customers the following options depending on how the outage affects them:
- If your flight was cancelled, you have the option to receive a refund, reservation credit or to be rebooked on another Spirit flight.
- If a Spirit flight is not available today or tomorrow, the airline will look for other options, including other airlines and hotel accommodation as needed.
- If your flight has been delayed by more than two hours, you can be rebooked on another Spirit flight or receive a reservation credit or a refund if you do not wish to fly.
