FORT WORTH, Texas — A man accused of stalking, tracking and murdering a Fort Worth woman last week had been a customer at the strip club where she worked and had threatened her with blackmail, court records released Monday indicated.

According to the arrest warrant affidavit, 54-year-old Stanley Szeliga was enraged after claiming to have paid 22-year-old Abigail Saldaña thousands of dollars and threatened on social media to report the victim on allegations of prostitution, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.

The document also mentions an Instagram post Saldaña made days before Szeliga allegedly fatally shot her while she drove. In the social media post, Saldaña revealed that she found a tracking device underneath her car, KDFW reported.

The warrant stated that Szeliga was accused of using the tracking device to follow Saldaña, the Star-Telegram reported.

The shooting occurred Oct. 26 near Rick’s Cabaret, and investigators found items inside Saldaña’s car indicating that she worked as a dancer at the strip club, KDFW reported.

According to the arrest warrant affidavit, managers at the club confirmed to police that Saldaña worked there but did not work on the night of the shooting.

A manager also told police that Saldaña had been worried about a particular patron named Stan, now confirmed to be Szeliga, “because he was stalking and harassing her,” the affidavit stated.

Szeliga, who was arrested for Saldaña’s murder on Wednesday, remained jailed Monday night, with bond set at $250,000, KDFW reported.

Saldaña’s mother, Jessica Contreras, confirmed to the Star-Telegram in a Thursday phone interview that her daughter moved to Dallas about two years ago with her 5-year-old son.

“I don’t know where she was going that night. We got a text about 6:30 p.m. that night, and the shooting happened about two hours later,” Contreras told the newspaper, noting that Saldaña had managed to take down a license plate number of the person who was stalking her before she was killed.
