Tax Day is here, and if you are facing a stiff tax bill, there are some restaurants and retailers here to help.
Several national chain restaurants are giving customers a break Tuesday with everything from deals on meals to free food.
If you need more information on tax return issues, you can go to the Internal Revenue website for help, but if you want to drown your sorrows in doughnuts, read on for the deals and freebies that will help you make it through the day.
Note: Not every restaurant in a chain may be honoring the deals, so be sure to check with local restaurants to confirm which deals are available before you go.
- Amazon: You can get a $10 Amazon gift card and a free one-year subscription to Quicken Starter Edition when you buy TurboTax Deluxe.
- BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse: Customers can get $10 off any $40 purchase for take-out and delivery orders with the promo code 10OFF40.
- Boston Market: Get a half chicken individual meal with two sides, cornbread, a drink and a cookie for $10.40.
- Fazoli’s: Through Thursday, customers can get six free breadsticks with any purchase.
- Great American Cookies: Buy one, get one Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake Slice free. The deal is valid at participating locations, in-store only.
- Hooters: Diners can choose from three $10.40 meal deals — four tenders and fries, eight-piece boneless wings and fries or six bone-in wings and fries.
- Kona Ice: Trucks around the country will serve free cups of shaved ice to guests on April 18.
- Krispy Kreme: Purchase an assorted or glazed dozen at regular price on Tuesday and get a second glazed dozen for the cost of the sales tax.
- Marble Slab Creamery: Members of the Slab Happy rewards program can get a free small ice cream with the purchase of a regular or Best Value-sized purchase at participating stores.
- Office Depot/Office Max: You can get 5 pounds of documents shredded with this coupon.
- Potbelly Sandwich Shop: On Tuesday, buy an original-sized sandwich and get a second one for free with the promo code BOGO. The offer is only available online and through the app.
- Round Table Pizza: Get $10 off any two large or extra-large pizzas at regular menu price on Tuesday if you are a Royal Rewards member.
- The Cheesecake Factory: Through Friday, The Cheesecake Factory is offering $10.40 off $50 takeout orders with the promo code TAXDAY1040 at checkout.
- Walmart: Walmart is offering 50% off tax prep at its in-store Jackson Hewitt locations, along with a $50 Walmart gift card.
- Wayback Burgers: Wayback will take 18% off your bill on the 18th if you order through the chain’s app.
- White Castle: Customers can get 18% off orders with the promo code SAVE.
