GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A Georgia teen is accused of stealing nearly $1 million from a Kroger grocery store, investigators said.
Gwinnett Police said Tre Brown, 19, an employee at the store, stole $980,000 during a two-week period through a scheme where he made returns on non-existent purchases, WSB-TV reported.
Brown made more than 40 returns that ranged in price from $75 to $87,000, police said. He put the returns on credit cards. Brown then used the money to buy clothes, guns and two cars. He totaled one of the vehicles before he was arrested.
