EXETER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Investigators said that the body of a teenager from New Jersey was found at a recycling facility in Pennsylvania after a truck dropped off its load of trash.
Kellen Bischoff, 19, had been reported missing to the Kutztown Police Department while he was visiting a family member over the weekend, NJ.com reported. Police said that Bischoff was reported missing after he was last seen leaving a party near Kutztown University early Saturday morning.
Just after 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Exeter Township police were called to the Total Recycling Facility, where the body of a man was found among the recyclables dropped off by a truck, WCAU reported.
The Berks County District Attorney’s Office said its investigators found surveillance video showing Bischoff, alone, climbing into a dumpster in Kutztown, KYW-TV reported. Several hours later, the video showed the dumpster’s contents emptied into a recycling truck, where they were compressed and taken to the recycling facility.
Investigators told NJ.com that an autopsy performed on Monday revealed no unexplained injuries or foul play. Toxicology results are pending.
The DA’s office said the death was likely accidental, KYW-TV reported.
