CEDAR PARK, Texas — “She’s got legs,” ZZ Top sang in 1983. The rock ‘n’ roll band did not have Maci Currin in mind, but the Texas teenager certainly fits the bill.
Currin, 17, now holds the record for having the world’s longest legs for a female and the longest legs on a teenager, according to Guinness World Records. The Cedar Park resident stands 6 feet, 10 inches tall, and her legs make up 60% of her total height, according to Guinness.
Currin’s left leg measures 53.255 inches, while her right leg measures 52.874 inches, Guinness reported.
The Texas teen’s leggy record is part of the new Guinness World Records 2021 book.
“I was never bullied for my legs," said Currin, who said other members of her family are tall. "I was bullied because I was taller than everyone.
“Around (my) sophomore year I just stopped caring what people thought of me, and once I just stopped caring I wasn’t affected by anything."
Currin says she hopes her new world record helps other tall women appreciate their height.
“I hope that tall women can see that height is a gift and that you shouldn’t be ashamed that you’re tall -- you should really embrace it,” Currin said in a statement.
Next for Currin is another record. She plans to go to college in the United Kingdom and set the record for being the world’s tallest professional model.
