ARVADA, Col. — A Colorado woman accused of drunken driving began spitting on the arresting officer and told the officer, “There’s some corona for you, now all you need is a lime,” authorities said.

Brenda Johnson, 62, was arrested Sunday morning by Arvada police and booked into the Jefferson County Jail, KMGH reported. It is not known whether Johnson has tested positive for the coronavirus, as she claimed, the television station reported.

However, the officer who was spat upon is following health department guidelines in reference to COVID-19, KDVR reported.

According to a news release, Arvada police responded after receiving a report of a driver who had collided with four parked vehicles, KUSA reported. The officers found Johnson about a half-mile away near a convenience store, the television station reported.

After investigating Johnson, the officers placed her under arrest. Johnson was taken to a local detoxification center, where the alleged spitting occurred, KMGH reported.

According to a Colorado Bureau of Investigations criminal history report, Johnson has a lengthy criminal record in the state, including a prior DUI arrest, drug possession, theft and probation violations, KMGH reported.
