The autographed 2000 Playoff Contenders Championship Ticket card was graded an 8 by Beckett Grading Services, with Brady’s signature garnering a perfect 10.

The Brady card was sold by PWCC Marketplace to James Park, the founder and CEO of FitBit, ESPN reported.

Brady, who won his seventh Super Bowl ring last month while starring for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, bested his counterpart from Kansas City once again. The Brady rookie card topped the $861,000 paid in early February for a 2017 National Treasures card of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, which was sold by Goldin Auctions.

Brady and the Buccaneers defeated Mahomes’ Chiefs 31-9 in Super Bowl LV.

Another version of the Brady rookie card, which was graded 10 (gem mint) by Professional Sport Authenticator, sold on eBay for $555,988 on Jan. 31.

“The highest sale for a football card. Ever,” PWCC Marketplace said on its Instagram account about this week’s record sale. “Only one of 100 cards in the world, even less if you consider grade.”

“I lived in Boston for 10 years and so am a huge fan of Brady,” Park said in comments posted to PWCC Marketplace’s Instagram account. “I’ve also had a love of collecting cards since I was a kid. Given Brady’s uncontested status as GOAT in football, this card is an important piece of sports history and of any collection.

“The last Super Bowl win was just a mind-blowing accomplishment. I’ve also had a love of collecting cards since I was a kid. Given Brady’s uncontested status as GOAT in football, this card is an important piece of sports history and of any collection and I’m incredibly excited to now own one of only 100 of Brady’s best rookie card.”

The highest amount paid for any sports card is $5.2 million, paid in mid-January by actor Rob Gough for a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card,

A Mantle card -- one of the most coveted trading cards of the post-World War II era -- was also sold by PWCC Marketplace.
