TREUTLEN COUNTY, Ga. — Officials shut down part of Interstate 16 in Georgia on Thursday morning after a truck crashed into a bridge and caused it to shift six feet, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation and WSB-TV.
Officials said a “large dump trailer” struck the State Route 86 bridge on Thursday morning, prompting authorities to close the interstate from Exit 71 to Exit 78 in Treutlen County. Engineers were on site Thursday morning evaluating the situation, WSB reported.

EB traffic directed through Soperton…WB sent through Adrian. But we need drivers to find other ways as well during this time. Use @waze @511Georgia for off-interstate travel options!!! pic.twitter.com/upIwoqDXqP
