The transition team which is spearheading the inaugural plans for President-elect Donald Trump has released the new official portrait of Trump and his Vice President, JD Vance.
Trump has a serious look on his face as he is placed in front of an American flag and a painting in the background.
As CNBC and other media outlets noted, Trump’s portrait mirrors his 2023 mugshot from the Fulton County Jail after being charged with allegedly trying to overturn his 2020 election loss.
It was also in contrast to Trump’s official portrait released months after he became the 45th president where he is seen smiling, however, it is slightly similar to the portrait taken when he was president-elect the first time, released in December 2016, CNBC reported.
Vance’s photo shows him smiling with his arms folded over his chest.
Both were taken by Trump’s chief photographer, Daniel Torok, who said on X, “We are entering the GOLDEN AGE OF AMERICA!”

The release from the transition team said “Official Portraits Released -- And They Go Hard,” Fox News reported.
Meanwhile, a different portrait was installed at the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery. The photograph of Trump that will hang in the museum until Feb. 11 was taken in 2019 for Time magazine and shows Trump sitting at the Resolute Desk. It will be on the first floor near the “Recent Acquisitions” exhibit.
A second photo, taken in 2017 for The Washington Post hangs in the “America’s President” exhibition, museum officials said. His official commissioned portrait will go on display after his final term in office.
