The case of the missing pigs has been solved.
Miles Lee, his brother Chance and their family were in Denver to compete in the Junor Market Swine Division at the National Western Stock Show, KMGH reported.
But before they were able to show off the pigs they had raised, the truck and trailer that was carrying the livestock were stolen, taken from outside the hotel they were staying in, KUSA reported.
“Obviously this is not just a concern for the motor vehicle and the trailer, but you do have two livestock, two big pigs that are very important to these people who lost their property right there,” Sean Towle, who is with Denver Police, told KDVR.
Tanya Lee, the teens’ mother, told KMGH, “This is our sport. No different than if someone were to have basketball or baseball or ballet or whatever it may be. If it were a traveling soccer team, this is our traveling sport.”
Luckily the truck, and more importantly perhaps, the pigs, were found, according to a tweet shared by police Tuesday morning.
The animals were hungry but were not harmed, KDVR reported.
