Ulta Beauty is apologizing to customers after sending an “insensitive” email about the late Kate Spade.
Ulta wrote an email on Sunday that said, “come hang with Kate Spade” to promote the line of perfumes from the brand, according to CNN Business. The email led customers to share the email on social media platforms to “ridicule Ulta” as they saw it as a connection to Kate Spade’s death by suicide in 2018.
Really Ulta? “Come “hang” with Kate Spade”? Kate Spade committed suicide by hanging. Seems like a poor choice of words. pic.twitter.com/0zpgDUr9xl

Ulta Beauty has since released a statement to People Magazine, saying the subject line was “insensitive” and apologizing.
“Mental health is a very serious, important issue in this country, and not something we would ever take lightly. We apologize to the Spade family, our Kate Spade New York brand partners, and to our guests. Thank you for understanding as we strive to do better.”
