LAS VEGAS — When Jaykwon Singleton saw his two young daughters piled on top of one another in a single bassinet, he questioned the girls' mother, who “shushed” him, according to court records.
It was only when Singleton further checked on Rose, 1, and Lily, 2 months, that he found them cold and unresponsive.
“She drowned them,” Singleton told a 911 dispatcher on Nov. 6, according to Fox 5 in Las Vegas. “I feel like their mom drowned them or something.”
The girls were pronounced dead at the scene, Las Vegas Metropolitan police officials said. Their cause of death has not been made public.
Their mother, Amanda Sharp-Jefferson, 26, has been charged with two counts of open murder.
An arrest report obtained by Fox 5 describes the chilling details of what Singleton found when he arrived home the day of the killings and questioned Sharp-Jefferson about their daughters.
“(Sharp-Jefferson) kept shushing him and at one point, made a statement that their organs were worth a lot of money,” the report states.
She made similar statements after police and medical personnel arrived and tried to revive the girls, the news station reported.
Singleton told detectives he and Sharp-Jefferson had been together since 2018. Things had been fine, he said, until a few weeks before the homicides, when Sharp-Jefferson accused him of cheating on her with his “spirit wife.”
Singleton said in an interview with Fox 5 that he left on the night of Nov. 5 to visit his oldest daughter, Violet, at his grandmother’s home. Everything seemed fine as he gave the girls kisses and told Sharp-Jefferson he’d see them all the following day.

When he returned home, however, Rose and Lily were dead.
“I’m asking her, like, ‘What did you do to my daughter? What did you do to my daughter?’” Singleton told the news station. “And she’s, like, ‘Shhh, shhh.’”
Singleton said he called his mother, then called 911.
“That day, when I seen them, I died,” he said. “I still feel dead. I feel blank. I’m numb.”

Investigators wrote that Sharp-Jefferson denied knowing Singleton or having children. According to Fox 5, she told police during questioning that she lived alone and awoke that morning to find the children dead in her apartment.
Instead of calling for help, she said she took a shower, the court records show.
Sharp-Jefferson claimed someone had gone into her apartment and staged the children’s belongings there to “set her up for the deaths of the two children, who were not hers.”
Detectives questioned her about the comments regarding the children’s organs and she said she’d seen “a movie where people made money on body parts after a person died,” the arrest report states.

Singleton told Fox 5 that he and Sharp-Jefferson had the girls 11 months apart because they wanted them to remain close over their lifetime.
“Rose was my ‘Big Juice’ and Lily was my ‘Brown Sugar,’” Singleton said. “I have to act like they’re still here because the only way I can carry on their legacy is just to stay positive.”
He told the news station that he forgives Sharp-Jefferson for what she’s done.
“If I walk around with anger, hatred, I’m not going to be able to get through this situation,” he said.
Sharp-Jefferson is being held in the Clark County Jail.
