The doorbell camera video, obtained by WFAA from an unidentified neighbor who lives directly across the street from the blast, captured the explosion at around 4:40 p.m., including a loud bang followed by billowing smoke and visible debris.

“This is a disaster,” the neighbor told WFAA, noting that his own home was damaged in the blast.

Plano Fire-Rescue investigators determined early Tuesday that an isolated gas leak within the Cleveland Drive home is the probable cause of the explosion.

NewsNation confirmed that three of the victims were transported to a children’s hospital for treatment, but officials have not yet detailed the nature or severity of any of the six victims’ injuries.

Plano Fire Capt. Peggy Harrell told WFAA that the explosion shattered some windows in homes across the street and confirmed that staff at the Haggard Library felt the blast from a mile away.

Atmos Energy, Oncor and fire department investigators are all investigating, the TV station reported.

According to fire officials, only one of the six victims was in the home that exploded, while the other five were in the “home next door,” NewsNation reported.

“We are saddened by today’s tragedy of a house explosion in our city,” Plano Mayor John Muns said in a prepared statement. “Several of our residents were injured. We are keeping them and their families close to our hearts and hoping for a swift and full recovery. Plano Fire-Rescue is working diligently to determine the cause of the blast. We’re asking all of you to keep the victims in your prayers.”
