GATLINBURG, Tenn. — A group of Tennessee students had to grin and bear it when some uninvited four-legged guests crashed their pool party in Gatlinburg.
According to WBIR-TV, members of the Jefferson County High School JROTC were at Chalet Village last weekend when several black bears decided to cool off by taking a dip in the resort’s pool. WBIR viewer Michelle Johnson captured the moment on video.
“The JROTC swim party had a few visitors ... 7 bears,” Johnson captioned the clip on YouTube. “We were safely outside the pool area. Black bears in the Great Smoky Mountains are beautiful, but please be respectful, keep your distance and don’t feed them.”
WBIR shared the video on Facebook, where it quickly went viral, racking up more than 3,500 shares and 2,800 reactions by Wednesday morning.
In her own Facebook post, Johnson said she was at the “right place at the right time.”
