Whoopi Goldberg could be back in habit for ‘Sister Act 3’

Sister Mary Clarence may be back in the habit, if Whoopi Goldberg has anything to do about it.

The EGOT-winning actress said “Sister Act 3” could come to reality.

“For a long time they kept saying no one wanted to see it and then quite recently it turns out that may not be true, people might want to see it," Goldberg said during an appearance on “The Late Late Show with James Cordon." “So we’re working diligently to try to figure out how to get the gang together and come back,” UPI reported.

Goldberg played Deloris Van Cartier, who, in the first movie released in May 1992, took sanctuary with a group of nuns while she was in witness protection, after witnessing a murder by her mob boss boyfriend. She inspires the nuns who form a choir to take a more secular view, using classic 1960s hits to get their religious message across, ABC News reported.

That film earned more than $230 million at the box office, People magazine reported.

In “Sister Act 2," Goldberg donned the habit again to save a failing catholic school.

Both films featured Maggie Smith as Mother Superior and Kathy Najimy as Sister Mary Patrick.

Goldberg said the films were “fun and it feels good,” “Good Morning America” reported.

“And you know, nobody’s mad. It’s just, listen — bad singing, great singing, OK singing and then nuns. What’s better than that?” she added.

Goldberg now appears on “The View” and in 2017, for the 25th anniversary of “Sister Act,” she reunited with the other actors for a performance of “I Will Follow Him.”

The film also inspired a Broadway musical.
