BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. — One lone ticket sold in Florida matched all six numbers in Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing, which ballooned to $396.9 million, lottery officials confirmed.
According to USA Today, the winning ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven in the southwestern Florida town of Bonita Springs.
“Everybody’s very excited,” 7-Eleven franchise owner Nour Obeissy told the Naples Daily News.
According to the lottery’s official website, Obeissy is slated to receive $100,000 for selling the winning ticket. Should the ticket holder opt to take the lump sum payment, the payout will be $274.6 million.
In addition to the big Florida winner, two other tickets sold in Ohio and Virginia matched five numbers and are worth $1 million each, USA Today reported.
Saturday night’s Powerball jackpot resets to an estimated $40 million.
