According to The Associated Press, Graham County Sheriff’s Office said they arrested Amber Langley, 38, on suspicion of first-degree murder, theft, fraudulent schemes and artifices.

It was reported by GCSO that hunters found the young girl’s remains wrapped in a plastic tarp in October 2020 east of U.S. Highway 191, according to the AP. The girl’s death was ruled as a homicide by the Pima County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The girl was identified by investigators but has not been released because of her age, according to the AP.

According to the AP, the FBI along with police from Safford, Arizona, and Thatcher, Arizona, all assisted GCSO with executing search warrants over the last month during the investigation, leading to the arrest of Langley.

No further information has been released including Langley’s relationship to the girl. The investigation is ongoing.
