SAN DIEGO — A woman driving from Mexico to San Diego was startled to find two people in her trunk after she crossed the border, authorities said Thursday.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the woman said she heard noises coming from the car trunk after she crossed the border at about 5 a.m. PST, KNSD-TV reported.
The woman had entered the country from Tijuana, according to KUSI-TV.

After pulling over in the parking lot of the Qualcomm building in Sorrento Valley, the woman told police she opened her trunk and a man and woman exited and ran away, KNSD reported.
The two people are believed to be in their 50s, police said. They have not been found.
It was unclear when the surprise passengers entered the trunk, or whether U.S. Customs and Border Protection will be called to investigate, according to the television station.
Police said the driver was cooperating with authorities, KUSI reported.
