LYNDEN, Wash. — Twenty-five firefighters from North Whatcom Fire, Lynden Fire, and Whatcom County District 1 fought a fully involved house fire in Lynden late Saturday night.
The fire occurred at the 2200 block of Pangborn Road.
The homeowner had left the house at about 8:30 p.m. to get dinner, and a passerby saw the house on fire at about 11 p.m. and reported it to the fire department, according to firefighters.
There was fire exposure to two other buildings, but both were saved.
All water had to be brought in because there were no nearby fire hydrants.
Firefighters remained on the scene throughout the night to monitor the house. This is known as a "Fire Watch."
There were no reported injuries.
Fire-related damages are estimated at $150,000.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
