SEATTLE — Fans celebrated the 25th anniversary of the cult classic Twin Peaks on Wednesday.
The show only ran for two seasons but lives on in Washington lore -- set in a fictional town the looks a lot like North Bend. To mark the occasion -- Lost Lake Cafe on Capitol Hill hosted a 24 hour marathon of the episodes, complete with coffee and cherry pie.
Though Showtime has been in talks to reboot the show -- director David Lynch backed out this week. The issue: there's a lack of funding.
It's not just fans pushing for Lynch's return. The cast is, too.
The cast of the original series participated in a YouTube video where they started a sentence with “Twin Peaks without David Lynch is like …” and ended with a comparison to a well-known element of the show.
