Wet and windy weather on the way

MAIN POINTS:
-Rain will be heavy at times Monday
-Likely heavier on Tuesday with gusty winds
-Flooding could become an issue
Our storm parade is well underway with two rounds of rain and gusty winds over the weekend and more to come in the week ahead.
Sunday nights strong winds should be calming down overnight, but will be picking up again as each successive storm moves through.
Rain will be heavy at times on Monday and likely even heavier on Tuesday before we taper off to showers on Wednesday.
It looks like the lowlands should pick up 2 to 5” of rain Sunday night through Wednesday morning, the coast should get 3 to 7”, and the mountains 5 to 12” of rain.
Snow levels will be climbing to around 8,000’ on Tuesday before they start to fall for the second half of the week.
With soil already saturated, rivers could rise quickly.
There should be enough gaps between rounds of rain to keep flooding from becoming a major issue, but minor flooding is likely and this series of storm systems will have to be monitored closely for any hints of increased moisture of higher snow levels that would lead to more serious issues.
There will also be an increased risk of landslides.
Thursday and Friday look unsettled, which means showers will continue, but they should be widely scattered with sunbreaks.  Models are suggesting another storm will move in on Saturday, bringing another round of widespread rain.
