Featured Floorplan: The Vaughn

SPONSORED: Packing 2,226 square feet of space into a compact footprint, The Vaughn cuts a stately profile whether it’s on a narrow urban lot with limited space or surrounded by beautiful landscaping on a vacation property. With 2.5 baths and the option to have three, four, or five bedrooms, this large custom home is perfect for multigenerational families or those who like to gather often for holidays and vacations.
The Great Room
After hiding your jackets away in the entry closet at the front of the home, the spacious great room welcomes you in. Connected to the dining room with a wide opening, the great room gives you just enough of a glimpse of the kitchen to enjoy the feel of an open floor plan without sacrificing any coziness.
The Dining Room
Nestled between the great room and the kitchen, the dining room is in the perfect location to enable efficient flow through the main level while staying connected. An optional covered patio off the dining room allows outdoor entertaining in the summer and gives you more living space in the warmer months.
The Kitchen
A dual sink in the island that faces the dining room keeps the conversation flowing, whether you are entertaining guests or helping kids with their homework while preparing dinner. The ample space below the stairs isn’t wasted. This is where you’ll find the large pantry for storing food, small appliances, and anything else that you want to stash away to keep your countertops clear.
The Bedrooms
Clustered on the upper level, the master suite and two bedrooms are connected by an open loft space, which can be enclosed and converted to an additional bedroom. The master features two closets with ample storage space for clothing and other items. Another optional bedroom on the main level enables single-level living or gives guests their own private space. A centrally located laundry room on the second floor also makes chores easier without having to go up and down the stairs.
The Den
Off the kitchen you’ll find a den that could be used in any number of ways, including as an additional bedroom. Use it as a playroom while the kids are young to help keep the great room tidy. You could also set up a home office, music room, exercise space, or craft area. Whatever hobbies you enjoy, The Vaughn gives you plenty of options to make space for them at home.
The Bathrooms
The floor plan conveniently includes a half bath on the main level just off the dining room, and two full baths upstairs in the master suite and off the loft area. If you decide to add an additional bedroom in the den on the main level, the half bath is converted to a full bath to accommodate single-level living, or to ensure that guests have everything they need.
The Closets
The Vaughn may be able to fit on a narrow lot, but that doesn’t mean it’s short on storage space. Hall closets at both the front and rear of the house give you plenty of space for year-round storage of outerwear. With two large closets in the master suite, you’ll have no trouble keeping everything organized and easily accessible.
Optional Garage
If the layout of the property allows, you can add an optional garage to the back of the house. Invisible from the front, you get the benefits of protected parking and extra storage without impacting your curb appeal. You also have the option to add a side garage for convenient access from the street.
The Exterior
As with every Adair home, you have multiple options for customizing the exterior of The Vaughn. Whether you choose the Classic, Traditions, or Signature style, the columns on the covered porch make a classy statement.
