Watch Week 4 highlights of high school football around the region with KIRO 7′s Chris Francis.
It was another week of high school football rivalries, and the Friday night gridiron action between Sumner and Puyallup was not much different from when the teams first played one another in 1920.
Both teams needed a win to keep their conference title hopes alive.
Puyallup’s calling card has been to air it out but it didn’t happen as Sumner defensive back Jay Mentink had an interception during the game. Sumner beat up on Puyallup, winning 40 to 10.
Another tough matchup was between the Lincoln Abes and Mount Tahoma.
Last week’s player of the week Gabarri Johnson showed his dual-threat ability by shaking a tackle and 56 yards later, he was in the endzone.
Mount Tahoma almost did it but the Abes survived with a 35-21 win.
