The Mariners fell 3-2 to the Blue Jays on Friday in the first of a three-game series at Rogers Centre in Toronto.

After a scoreless first inning, the two teams exchanged solo home runs in the second. Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh hit his third home run of the season on a slider from Blue Jays starter Alek Manoah. In the bottom half of the inning, Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk notched his second home run of the season on a sinker from Mariners ace Luis Castillo.

Raleigh tallied another RBI an inning later on a single that scored Jarred Kelenic, giving the Mariners a 2-1 lead.

The Blue Jays evened things up in the bottom of the inning as third baseman Matt Chapman doubled to center field to score Vladimir Guerrero, Jr.

An RBI single with two runners on in the bottom of the sixth by George Spring gave the Blue Jays the final run they would need to secure the 3-2 lead and the win.

First pitch of game 2 in the series is set for 12:07 p.m. Saturday. Chris Flexen (0-4) is scheduled to take the mound for the Mariners as Kevin Gausman (2-2) gets the nod for the Blue Jays.
