Seattle Kraken advance to next round after tense Game 7 win over Colorado Avalanche

In just their second year ever, the Seattle Kraken have pulled off a stunner of a series win over the defending Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche.

That came to a head in Game 7 on Sunday night, with the Kraken holding on a for a tense 2-1 victory in Colorado.

The Kraken will move on to play the Dallas Stars in Round 2, with the winner of that series to face either the Vegas Golden Knights or the Edmonton Oilers.

All scoring occurred in the second period, with Oliver Bjorkstrand the sole scorer for the Kraken and Mikko Rantanen scoring for the Avalanche.

Kraken goaltender Philipp Grubauer had an incredible show, with 33 saves out of 34 shots, averaging 97.1%.

Kraken forward Oliver Bjorkstrand nearly had a hat-trick, with two goals. He hit the post three goals on three additional shots.
