SEATTLE — The Seattle Kraken came back home Monday as the hottest team in hockey after doing something that had never been done in the history of the NHL — sweeping a seven-game road trip.

The team was looking to make it nine-straight wins on Monday, but they dropped a game to the Tampa Bay Lightning, losing 4-1.

Despite the loss, the team is coming off a successful road trip that saw their 26th win of the regular season.

They’re now one win shy of tying their win total from last season.

Many fans we spoke with before Monday’s game said they’re feeling hopeful for playoffs.

“It’s amazing what you get with a good draft pick, a couple of good trades and just the chemistry, just the team getting to know each other better,” said Thom O’Rourke. “The coach seems to really put the players in the positions to help them succeed.”

The Kraken will be up in Edmonton on Tuesday to take on the Oilers.
