More school zone cameras coming to Issaquah

ISSAQUAH, Wash. — Issaquah wants to install more speed cameras to slow drivers around schools.

The city wants to install photo-enforcement systems on Newport Way Northwest near Issaquah Valley Elementary School and on Northeast Park Drive around Grand Ridge Elementary.

Issaquah already operates school zone cameras near Issaquah High School.

With the new cameras, the city expects the number of tickets to increase and the Issaquah Press reports that means hiring more part-time workers.

The three-school camera system is expected to cost $342,000.
