FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — A man who was having an apparent mental crisis was killed when he was hit by a car in Federal Way Thursday morning.
The crash happened in the southbound lanes of Pacific Highway South.

At 2:30 a.m., Federal Way patrol officers were called to the Chevron station at 35505 Pacific Highway South for a disturbance.
Shortly after, a 42-year-old man, who appeared to be having a mental crisis, took off all his clothes and ran into traffic on Pacific Highway South, according to police.
He laid down on the road and was hit by a car. His injuries were fatal.
Police said the driver who hit the man cooperated and showed no signs of being impaired.
The southbound lanes were closed for several hours between 352nd and 356th while police investigated and officials removed the body.
Southbound Pacific Highway South was back open by 6:30 a.m.
